Insulating Glass


Insulating glass (IGU or DGU) comprises two or more plies of glass that are separated with an aluminium spacer fully filled with desiccant, or a thermally efficient spacer and the sides are sealed with high-strength sealant.

Annealed clear glass, tinted glass, solar reflective glass, Low-E glass, laminated glass, tempered glass, heat-strengthened glass and curved glass, etc.

It can be used to form insulating glass unit according to design requirement.

Specifications

Maximum dimension (mm): 2500 x 5000 (except handmade)

Minimum dimension (mm) : 300 x 300

Width of spacer (mm): 6, 9, 12, 16, 20mm

Thickness (mm): various combinations of glasses between 3mm and 19mm thick

Features:

The visible light transmittance is normally in the range of 7-80% and visible light reflectance is in the range of 13-48%

We can achieve U-value as low as 0.8

Where required we can achieve acoustic insulation coefficient Rw 51

The dew point of insulating glass is below -65 C which guarantees no condensation formation under normal applications

Aluminium spacer is automatically curved and formed with only one joint and two seals which ensure excellent sealing characteristics.

Superglass Quad Insulating Glass is the most energy-efficient glazing product on the market today. It uses two Heat Mirror films suspended inside an insulating glass unit, creating three air spaces. Featuring a patented tape system for gas retention and a thermally broken, insolating spacer to stop conduction through the edge of the glass, Superglass Quad can achieve an industry-leading U-value of 0.8 (R-value of 12.5).
